Deploy Odoo on real hardware with this unique and easy-to-use graphical installer
Bitnami Odoo Stack is a multiplatform and freely distributed software project, a graphical installer tool that greatly simplifies the installation and hosting of the Odoo web-based application, as well as of its runtime dependencies, on desktop computer and laptops powered by any GNU/Linux operating system.
What is Odoo?
Odoo is an open source, free and platform-independent enterprise resource platform that allows users to manage all of their business operations from a single, virtual location. It allows you to manage human relations, projects, supply chains, as well as accounting. The software comprises of a CRM (Customer Relationship Management), reporting modules and messaging components.
Installing Bitnami Odoo Stack
Bitnami Odoo Stack is distributed as native installers, cloud images, a virtual appliance and a Docker container. The native installers have been built using BitRock’s cross-platform installer tools, designed for both the 32-bit and 64-bit (recommended) computers.
To install Odoo on your personal computer, you will have to first download the package that corresponds to your PC’s hardware architecture, run it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Run Odoo in the cloud or virtualize it
In addition to the native installers, Bitnami offers pre-build cloud images that allow you to run Odoo in the cloud on top of the Windows Azure and Amazon EC2 cloud hosting providers. A virtual appliance based on the latest LTS (Long Term Support) release of the Ubuntu Linux distribution.
The Bitnami Odoo Docker container
An Odoo Docker container will also be available for download on the project’s homepage (see link below), free of charge. Unfortunately, Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) users won’t be able to install the Odoo application, as Bitnami doesn’t provide an Odoo module. Furthermore, Odoo installers are only available for GNU/Linux distributions and won’t work on Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X operating systems.
