Discover various different planets in this combat-oriented MMORPG, featuring a variety of classes and all the loot you could want
Back when MMORPGs were still a rather new thing out there, players had a more detached feeling when it came to what the gameplay was all about. Hence, instead of complaining about the repetitive mechanics and the fact that all you had to do was kill as many creeps as you can in the span of a day, they praised the sense of community that emerged from doing these things together with people from all over the world.
Level-up as fast as you can and hunt precious loot
ROSE Online Client is one of the more casual MMORPGs out on the market, given the fact that it was released quite a while ago. Hence, it doesn’t have the depth seen in titles like World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, or RIFT, but it certainly has a lot of combat. Not only that, but the experience can be tons of fun even so, as long as you get a few friends to join you, because there’s not much of a community left anymore.
As such, there are a couple of different classes to choose from, each one of which can evolve into two different sub-classes, depending on your choices along the way. Hence, you have the option of choosing between Muse, Dealer, Soldier, and Hawker. They may not sound particularly inviting or interesting at a first sight, but each one comes with different abilities and skills that can be of help in battle.
Battle mobs and go head-to-head against other players
Although these games usually rely mostly on the PvE component to keep the people interested, there’s always a PvP element as well. In this case, there are special arenas you can practice your skills on human opponents, although the lack of players may yet again prove to be annoying. Other than that, it’s all about killing mobs and waiting for the big loot to drop, in order to get better gear, or sell it to the other players.
From a visual point of view, there’s not much of a surprise, given the age of the game and the fact that it was developed to be as friendly as possible with older hardware. However, the nice level design can make you forget about textures and blocky models, because the unique setting provides you with plenty of interesting locations to explore whenever you are feeling bored.
Not enough players to get into the groove of the game
When it’s all said and done, ROSE Online Client still has what it takes to battle the other competitors in the genre, especially now when everything follows the free-2-play model. However, the lack of a proper community is very painful, because it makes the experience a lot more disappointing, unfortunately.
