An easy-to-use and practical cooking recipe manager for your Mac that comes with an internal browser, meal planner and grocery list creator
Managing cooking recipes on a computer usually requires a simple notepad, but you can also use specialized software that help you store recipes much more efficiently.
Paprika Recipe Manager is a macOS desktop application that does more than help you manage cooking recipes. It also enables you to browse and clip recipes from the web, create grocery lists and plan meals.
Paprika Recipe Manager can be used by everyone who loves to cook: moms, dads, aspiring cooks and experienced chefs as well.
The main user interface includes a left pane with four tabs for accessing the Recipes, Browser, Groceries and Meals.
From the Recipes tab, you can create recipe collections and organize them into folders. To add a new recipe, click on the plus sign on the upper right corner of the window.
The recipe creation window enables you to enter details such as name, image, prep time, cook time, servings, source, URL, difficulty, rating, ingredients and directions, notes and even nutritional information. Each recipe entry looks like a beautifully formatted article that can be easily edited.
Furthermore, the internal Browser allows you to search the Web for your favorite cooking recipes and save them to Paprika.
The Groceries tab provides a place to store entire grocery lists (baking goods, canned goods, dairy, meat, etc.). For each category, you can add any specific food type and the amount.
Finally, the fourth tab, which is called “Meals”, lets you schedule future meals by using an built-in calendar and an intuitive layout. You can click on each day of the week and add the meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
Paprika extends its macOS platform support by providing companion apps for the iPhone and iPad. The advantage, of course, is that you can sync between notes you’ve made on each platform.
As an added bonus, Paprika Recipe Manager comes with an internal search function that can be accessed via the upper toolbar. You can use it to find recipes, ingredients and sources.
