Easily reduce the sizes of your JPEG photos and save some space on your hard drive without comprising on quality with this application
JPEGmini Pro is an application that allows you to compress and hence, reduce the size of your JPEG photos considerably, but without affecting the quality of the image in any way.
Includes an appealing and intuitive interface
The setup is quick, straightforward and does not require any special attention from your part. The program comes with a fresh and modern interface that is highly intuitive and should not give you any troubles. As indicated in the UI, you can drag and drop the photos to get started and you will be happy to learn that the tool performs the decompression automatically.
Unfortunately, the app does not come with extra options so that you can set the parameters of the compression or, at least, include a confirmation box that allows you to establish when the app should decompress. In addition, it would have been nice if the utility supported more than JPEG files and worked with other common file formats.
Comes with several decompression presets
It is worth mentioning that the utility features several templates for decompression, namely small, medium, large, max width and max height. On the other hand, you cannot modify the settings of the templates, as you have fixed b sizes. Unfortunately, the utility does not allow you to adjust the size to which the photos should be reduced, an aspect that can render the app obsolete for professional photographers.
On a side note, you should know that there are some differences between JPEGmini and the Pro version, namely that the later is capable of optimizing photos up to 60MP, whereas the standard version does not go beyond 28MP. In addition, the Pro version works 8 times faster and comes with a plugin and an extension for Lightroom and Photoshop.
A minimalistic tool for decompressing JPEG images
In the eventuality that you need to save some space on your hard drive where you store hundreds or even thousands of pictures, while making sure the quality is preserved, then perhaps JPEGmini Pro could lend you a hand.
