An installer that greatly simplifies the installation of Open Atrium and its runtime dependencies
Bitnami Open Atrium Stack is a multiplatform and freely distributed software appliance that greatly simplifies the deployment of the Open Atrium web-based application, as well as of its runtime dependencies on a desktop computer or laptop. Bitnami provides users with native installers, a virtual machine, cloud images, a LAMP module and Docker container for Open Atrium.
What is Open Atrium?
Open Atrium is an open source web-based software that helps teams to collaborate efficiently by providing an Intranet platform, which includes a blog, a calendar, a to do list, a wiki, a shoutbox, and a dashboard to manage it.
Installing Bitnami Open Atrium Stack
Bitnami’s Open Atrium native installers were packaged using BitRock’s cross platform installer tool, which means that it runs on GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating system. To install it, you will have to download the binary package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture (32-bit or 64-bit), run it and follow the instruction displayed on the screen.
Run Open Atrium on the cloud, virtualize it or use the Docker container
Open Atrium can also be deployed on the cloud, thanks to Bitnami’s cloud images for the Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud hosting providers, virtualize it using Bitnami’s virtual appliance for the Oracle VirtualBox and VMware ESX/ESXi virtualization software, based on the latest stable release of the Ubuntu Linux distribution. An Open Atrium Docker container will also be provided on the project’s homepage.
The Bitnami Open Atrium Module
Besides the Bitnami Open Atrium Stack product reviewed here, Bitnami also offers a companion for users who own a Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack and are looking for a lightweight solution to deploy Open Atrium on their personal computers. Bitnami Open Atrium Module is available for download for free on Softpedia.
