Deploy troops and mighty heroes of legend to stake your claim in this world of war
Mobile games are becoming more and more popular, as carrying a phone is far more convenient than a bulky laptop, not to mention an actual PC.
As such, cross-platform titles that allow fans of different gaming consoles are as popular as ever. One example of such a title is Castle Clash, an RTS game that is one of the original “Clash” games.
It all started with your phone
Since the game was initially released as a mobile title, many of the controls are well-suited for touchscreen devices, and even the tutorial is a dead giveaway of that fact (the word “tap” appears pretty often).
Given the cross-platform nature of the game, it was made to work on mobile devices, so the graphics are extremely easy to handle, even by older PC systems.
A familiar play style
As with all the mobile and PC games that have the word “clash” in them, you control a base of operations where you hire various heroes and troops, and your job is to get stronger and stronger. You can do this by completing the singleplayer campaign, or by going head to head with your peers, stealing each other’s resources in a frenzy of pixelated blood.
He attacks, and you defend
When attacking an enemy (both AI or player base), your objective is to destroy their central building, while also taking as many other buildings with you since more destruction means more rewards at the end of the match and an overall better rating.
The same cannot be said about defending since you don’t have any active role when being attacked, you just get a report in your inbox after the attack was finished.
Since you have no control over what’s happening when you are attacked, your only solution is to arrange your troops and defenses in a way that makes your base impenetrable.
I kill, I loot, I get stronger
Successful raids and defenses award you with all manner of rewards, including XP, gold, Mana, and other bonuses that allow the upgrade of specific units.
Speaking of which, your troop diversity is also worth mentioning, as besides the foot soldiers, ranged units and heavy siege units, you can also command unique hero units that have powerful abilities and can sometimes be the bread and butter of your raids and defense.
A good game to let out some steam
Castle Clash is a great game in all aspects, although the premium currency can give it a slight Pay2Win feel to it, but if you have the patience to grow as a free player, then loads of fun await you.
